Fire breaks out at Urbana tower 4, residents evacuated

A fire broke out on Monday morning at a luxury residential complex near EM Bypass that houses several Tollywood celebrities, triggering panic among residents. Flames were spotted blazing from the balcony of a fifth-floor apartment in one of the towers, while thick black smoke quickly engulfed the surrounding area.

Residents and security guards first noticed the fire and immediately alerted others in the building. Panic spread as occupants rushed downstairs to ensure their safety. The fire brigade was informed without delay, and two fire engines reached the spot promptly to contain the blaze.

Firefighters launched operations on a war footing and, after sustained efforts, brought the fire under control. Officials confirmed that the building’s fire safety system functioned properly, which helped prevent the situation from escalating into a major disaster.

The residential complex is home to several Tollywood personalities, including Raj Chakraborty, Subhashree Ganguly, Rachna Banerjee, and Ankush Hazra. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, though preliminary assumptions suggest it may have originated from an air conditioner unit. Officials stated that it is too early to confirm the precise reason behind the incident.
